Side Hustle

Drawing their inspiration from a persona LIBERTY, a take on the Statue of Liberty and a young lady navigating in today’s environment, the goal of the album is to mimic the ebbs and flows one feels as they’re trying to live out their dreams. The band tells me that goal is achieved through the variety of their music, ranging from high energy rock music to other songs with hints of the blues.

The EP was born in the height of the pandemic as the band found themselves with a lot of free time. During that time, they collaborated and even filmed a behind the scenes video to show what the recording process was like, especially with a self-funded band during a time when live performances had to be put on hold.

Listeners will automatically understand the concept of the album as the lyrics of the first song set up the purpose, and they’ll continue on a musical journey as they listen to the 9-and-a-half-minute long song, “Streetwalker,” crafted up by the band’s keyboardist, Billy Begley.

“I wanted to make it an actual experience,” Begley said.

The dynamic of the band, and what makes their music so special, are the different backgrounds each of the members bring to the table. With experience in everything from the blues and rock to Latin, the band has used their musical backgrounds to create a sound that’s all their own.

While traveling all across Florida to perform, the band tells me they can be seen performing at a number of places across Jacksonville and St. Augustine, including the 1904 Music Hall, Dog Rose Brewing and Jack Rabbits.

LIBERATION is out now on all streaming platforms, and to find out where the band is performing next, you can find them on
